Blanchard Valley Hospital, an integral part of Blanchard Valley Health System, has once again been honored on Newsweek’s prestigious list of the ‘World’s Best Hospitals 2025.’ This recognition is not a new accolade for the hospital, but this year, they saw additional laurels in the categories of excellent infection prevention and patient experience.
Newsweek officially announced their award list on February 26, 2025, available for viewing on their website. The ‘World’s Best Hospitals 2025′ ranking includes distinguished hospitals from 30 countries, selected based on a myriad elements such as standard of living/life expectancy, population size, the number of hospitals, and the availability of comparable data.
Newsweek, in association with statistical firm Statista, highlighted the best hospitals utilizing four primary data sources, which consist of medical experts’ recommendations collected from an extensive online survey among a diverse forum of doctors, health care professionals, and hospital managers across the 30 selected countries; patient survey results reflecting patient satisfaction with their hospitalization experience; hospital quality metrics and medical indicators – including but not limited to – data on quality of care for treatments, hygiene measures, patient safety, and waiting times; and the Statista Patient-Reported Outcome Measures (PROMs) Implementation Survey, an optional online survey focused on the execution and application of PROMs in hospitals. A composite score was then deduced for each hospital from these four pillars and their corresponding weightage.
Blanchard Valley Health System’s President and CEO, Myron D. Lewis, spoke on the hospital’s successive honor eloquently, ‘We are honored to receive this national recognition once again, and are thankful also for the additional recognition for our efforts to improve infection prevention and the patient experience. Our associates take both of these aspects of healthcare very seriously as part of our commitment to our patients and their families. It is rewarding to see national recognition once again for the hard work that our associates do each and every day to ensure patients receive safe, quality care.’
This win underscores their dedication towards their mission, to ensure patients receive safe, premium healthcare, and their incessant drive to innovate and evolve, by regularly adding and expanding services keeping in mind patients’ and community needs.
