UW Health University Hospital Recognized as a World Leader in Infection Prevention

UW Health has once again earned a spot on Newsweek’s prestigious list of the World’s Best Hospitals. This recognition isn’t just for being one of the exemplary healthcare institutions around the globe. It distinguishes them as the leading hospital in Wisconsin. Holding the 27th position across the United States and being 145th on the list of the top 250 globally ranked hospitals, UW Health University Hospital continues to set high standards in the health sector. This year, the University Hospital has been further acknowledged for specifically excelling in infection prevention.

Newsweek’s World’s Best Hospitals 2025 list presents the paramount hospitals across 30 countries. These healthcare institutions have been chosen upon extensive consideration of multiple factors. These can range from standard of living and life expectancy of the country, to the population size, to the total amount of hospitals, and the availability of pertinent data.

Newsweek and Statista have constructed a final score for the best hospitals, utilizing four distinct data sources.
