Monmouth Medical Center and Newark Beth Israel Medical Center have also distinguished themselves as frontrunners in infection prevention.

This eminent list, released annually by Statista and Newsweek in its eighth edition, features 2,530 top-performing hospitals across 32 countries, including 420 US-based facilities. These hospitals were evaluated and selected based on distinct, rigorous criteria. Monmouth Medical Center and Newark Beth Israel Medical Center are not newcomers to this prestigious list, being recognized for the fifth and sixth time, respectively.

Dr. Andy Anderson, Chief Medical and Quality Officer at RWJBarnabas Health, expressed his pride with the organization’s notable presence in the list. He praised the unwavering dedication of the RWJBarnabas Health team and stated that such recognition affirms their commitment to excel in academic medicine and provide compassionate patient care across New Jersey.

Monmouth Medical Center and Newark Beth Israel Medical Center have also been honored with the Infection Prevention Award after demonstrating superior performance on CDC infection measures and Leapfrog hand hygiene criteria, shared amongst a select group of 259 US hospitals. Monmouth Medical Center receives this accolade for the third time. Both healthcare leaders at Monmouth Medical Center, President and CEO Eric Carney, and Newark Beth Israel Medical Center, President and CEO Darrell K. Terry, Sr., showed great contentment with the recognition, attributing the honor to their dedicated staff and their commitment to their patients.

This latest recognition from Newsweek stands as a testament to RWJBarnabas Health’s principled commitment to high-quality care, patient experience, and clinical excellence. As New Jersey’s most expansive academic health system, RWJBarnabas Health provides care annually to over five million individuals and integrates 14 hospitals, 9,000 affiliate physicians, and more than 700 patient care locations. The system is also a crucial contributor to the state’s economy, with 44,000 employees and contributions exceeding $5.5 billion annually. For more information, visit www.RWJBH.org.
