Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Hamilton: An Orthopedic Center of Excellence Reaccredited by The Joint Commission

In a bid to continue ensuring excellence in patient care and safety, Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Hamilton, located in Hamilton Township, New Jersey, takes pride in its recent re-accreditation as an Orthopedic Center of Excellence by The Joint Commission.

As conveyed in a public statement released on November 6th, The Joint Commission is an organization that is deeply committed to preserving and enhancing the quality of patient care and safety. It achieves this through fostering constant advances in healthcare systems. RWJUH Hamilton’s reaccreditation is a result of an in-depth evaluation process conducted by The Joint Commission on several performance parameters.

These parameters encompass diverse aspects such as emergency management, establishing a conducive care environment, infection prevention, control mechanisms, leadership, administration of medication, along with upholding the individual rights and responsibilities. The evaluation process was not solely dependent on analyzing these parameters.

To gain a more panoramic view and ensure accuracy, The Joint Commission complemented the process with hands-on observations and firsthand conversations with hospital staff and patients. This reaccreditation suggests continued dedication to quality improvement within the hospital, particularly in their orthopedic department. The Joint Commission’s decision to re-accredit the RWJUH Hamilton is indicative of the hospital’s commitment to providing superior care and enhancing patient safety, and it is worthy of recognition and commendation.
