Recognition for Excellence in Infection Prevention: A Spotlight on Evans Memorial Hospital

In an unprecedented acknowledgment of their noteworthy work in infection prevention, the Evans Memorial Hospital (EMH) Emergency Department was recently honored. This news comes as an essential indicator of their relentless dedication to maintaining the best standards of care in fighting through the ongoing healthcare challenges.

The event saw the participation of prominent personnel from various disciplines. Those in attendance included Michael Dykes, MBA, BSN, RN, the Director of Rural Pediatric Projects at Mercer University School of Medicine, Glenda Grant, MBA, the Executive Director of Georgia Rural Health Innovation Center, and Jordan Simmons, a student at Mercer School of Medicine and Children’s Rural Pediatric Scholar.

A noteworthy presence was Avery Eason, RN, Infection Control Coordinator at Evans Memorial Hospital, along with Rosalind Ivy, the esteemed Board Chair of EMH, and State Representative Bill Werkheiser. Further adding to the occasion’s significance were the EMH CEO, Bill Lee, MBA, MHA, and the President of Claxton-Evans County Chamber of Commerce, Lanette Tippins.

Pam Mason, BSN, RN, Operations Director for Children’s Affiliations, and Beth Stewart, NP, Pediatric Care Coordinator at EMH graced the event with their presence. The managerial team of EMH including Director of Information Technology, James Wright, MHA, CFO John Wiggins, MBA, Director of Human Resources Jennifer Evans, Controller Lucy Delgado and Patient Access Manager Ashtyn Brown were also present.
