Another key provision of this law is the requirement for each hospital to allocate a specifically trained employee, competent in trauma-informed care and victim support, who will fulfill the role of a law enforcement liaison. This points towards an integrated approach, ensuring that there is a crucial link between hospitals and law enforcement agencies, and further boosting the support system in traumatic situations.
While Vermont may be steering legislation in this direction, it is not alone in its endeavor. Similar legislative efforts have been witnessed in states like Ohio that also reckon the urgent need for protecting healthcare workers from violence.
