APIC Announces 2024 Strategic Partners to Enhance Infection Prevention and Control

The Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology (APIC), recognized within the industry as the leading group for infection prevention and control (IPC) professionals, has publically announced its strategic partners for 2024. With a robust community nearing 15,000 infection preventionist (IP) members, APIC proudly marks its place as the unparalleled association for IPC professionals.

There exists a formal agreement, known as the APIC Strategic Partner Program, that cements the partnership between APIC and industry counterparts. The ultimate shared vision of this collaboration is to promote the development and growth of infection prevention and control practice in healthcare establishments and various settings.

APIC’s Chief Executive Officer, Devin Jopp, EdD, expressed his delight at this alliance with the 2024 APIC Strategic Partners. He envisions the fruits of this partnership reflected in the progressive strides made in infection prevention and control across diverse arenas inside and beyond the reach of healthcare. The joint efforts promise a safer world through the prevention of infections.

Statistics from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention propose that on any given day, 1 out of 31 hospital patients, and 1 out of 43 nursing home residents are grappling with a healthcare-associated infection. A pivotal part of the action plan to counter these unsettling figures is the APIC Strategic Partner Program. This initiative lends significant support to several educational strategies and services that directly profit APIC’s membership.

Members of APIC, who are infection preventionists, are specialized professionals hailing from diverse fields such as nursing, public health, laboratory, and allied health. These dedicated professionals spearhead the infection prevention efforts in healthcare systems, hospitals, long-term care facilities, and even non-healthcare environments.

APIC was founded in 1972 and serves as the paramount association for infection preventionists and epidemiologists. Boasting of over 15,000 members, APIC pours its resources into advancing infection prevention and control science and practice. Its mission is realized through research, advocacy, patient safety; education, credentialing, and certification; and by nurturing the development of tomorrow’s infection prevention and control workforce. Alongside the dedicated efforts of its members and partners, APIC strives to realize a safer world free from infection.
